New Lenox Chamber Awards Scholarships to Area Students
The New Lenox Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce scholarship recipients for 2011. Two New Lenox students, Stephanie Kentner and Geena Florek, received awards of $500 each to assist in pursuing their post-high school education goals.
The Chamber is built on a foundation of unity and committed to community involvement. As the unifying voice for our member businesses and organizations, we commend both of these students on their continued outreach and contributions to the greater New Lenox community.
The Chamber Scholarship Program is funded by the annual Mind Over Miles 8K Run/Walk, which offers both an 8K run and 1 Mile fun run/walk. “We hope to increase the number of scholarships the chamber awards annually as participation in the Run grows,” stated Chamber CEO Debbera Hypke. The 2ndAnnual Mind Over Miles Run is scheduled for Sunday, September 18th at Lincoln-Way West High School.
