The New Lenox Safe Community Coalition, in partnership with Guardian Angel Community Services, is offering a FREE presentation entitled “Teen Dating Violence: What You Should Know to Support and Help Prevent.” This event will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm in the Community Room at the New Lenox Village Hall. "Teen Dating Violence: What You Should Know to Help Support and Prevent" focuses on providing parents, guardians, and other trusted adults the opportunity to learn about how they can be a positive support system for teens. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn what teen dating violence is and how it impacts those who experience it. In addition, attendees will be provided with handouts and a QR code with information on local and national resources that focus on how to support someone who might be in an unhealthy or abusive relationship.
Featured Presenter – Breann Fisher
Breann Fisher is the Prevention and Advocacy Coordinator for Guardian Angel Community Services' Sexual Assault Service Center (SASC). Through community education, Breann raises awareness about how violence can be prevented. She also ensures that survivors of sexual violence receive victim-center, trauma-informed support and care.
