Event Description:
On June 21, Pro Football Hall of Famer and 2006 Super Bowl Champion, Jerome Bettis, will be coming to the area to help educate people about joint health and the importance of mobility by sharing his personal experience with joint pain.
Although the former Pittsburgh Steeler and Hall of Fame running back does not have a joint replacement, Bettis will be in attendance to speak about joint health and his experience in dealing with joint pain after 13 seasons of playing professional football. He’ll be teaming up with orthopaedic surgeons Dr. Robert Daley and Dr. Paul Trksak who will be discussing joint pain treatment options including advanced technologies like Mako robotic-arm assisted hip and knee surgery.
Bettis recently announced his collaboration with Stryker Orthopaedics to promote joint health awareness in 2016. As a spokesperson for Stryker, he will share his personal experience of dealing with joint pain, while also encouraging other joint pain sufferers to make a move and learn about various treatment options that are available to them.
Silver Cross Hospital and Stryker Orthopaedics will host the Free Joint Health Event on Tuesday, June 21, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Lincoln Way West High School Performing Arts Center, 21701 S. Gougar Rd., New Lenox. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m.
Men and women who register to attend this event will be entered in a drawing to win an NFL Football autographed by Jerome Bettis. All winners must be present on June 21 to receive prizes. Healthcare professionals are not eligible to participate in the drawing.
