Offered for Older Adults
“A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns About Falls”
New Lenox seniors, have you turned down a chance to go out with family or friends because you were concerned about falling? Have you cut down on a favorite activity because you might fall? If so, “A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns About Falls” is a program for you!
“A Matter of Balance” is designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels among older adults. Participants learn to set realistic goals to increase activity, change their environment to reduce fall risk factors, and learn simple exercises to increase strength and balance.
The New Lenox Safe Community Coalition is offering a FREE “A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns About Falls” class as follows:
Mondays and Thursdays from 9:00am to 11:00am at New Lenox VFW Post 9545, 323 Old Hickory Road, New Lenox, IL. The class includes 8 sessions as follows:
May 1st, May 4th, May 8th, May 11th, May 15th, May 18th, May 22nd and May 25th.
