Christmas in the Commons

The Christmas in the Commons Kick-Off Celebration is the official start of the holiday season festivities in the New Lenox Village Commons, and will be held Sunday, December 2nd this year, from 2pm-6pm!
Santa Claus will be on site inside Village Hall to help kick things off, and he'll be available for photos throughout the event! While you're waiting to see jolly old St. Nick, be sure to check out the Library, Police Department and Friends of the Parksbooths for games and giveaways! Once you've seen Santa, be on the lookout for a special treat on your way out, from TCBY!
Santa's reindeer will also be joining us, and they will be located just outside of the Village Hall for pictures! A coloring contest will again be available for children in Village Hall's community room, and kids can also take some time to write their letters to Santa before mailing them in his special mailbox outside.
Special performances from multiple local madrigal groups will be ongoing throughout the event, so be sure to check the performance schedule below so you don't miss your favorite group!
Lincoln-Way West Madrigals 2pm - 2:30pm
Liberty Junior High Madrigals 2:30pm - 3pm
Lincoln-Way Area Chorale 3pm - 3:30pm
St. Jude Music Ministry & Bell Choir 3:30pm - 4:30pm

Visitors won't want to miss the start of the Holiday Market, located right in front of the Village Hall! Start (or finish!) your holiday shopping with our wonderful variety of vendors! All vendors for each of the 7 days of our celebration are now listed on the Holiday Market Vendors page.
Skate rentals will be available again from the New Lenox Community Park District for the return of the synthetic ice skating rink! And this year, the Park District will be setting up two separate rinks for all to enjoy! As a special treat for the Kick-Off Celebration, rentals on this day will be FREE!
Also, Trinity Services will be opening their building to host some festive events this year as well! Be sure to visit theirwebsite for more details!
And of course, while shopping and skating, don't forget to stop by the Village Commons concession stand to grab some hot chocolate or SPIKED hot chocolate (Patrons must be at least 21 years of age to purchase alcoholic beverages) along with our 2018 commemorative holiday mug!
The official "Lighting Ceremony" will take place at dusk, around 4:30pm, so be sure to grab a spot out under the trees to watch Santa and the rest of the Commons come to life for the Holiday season!
We can't wait to see you here!
