Offered for Older Adults
“A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns About Falls”
Seniors, have you turned down a chance to go out with family or friends because you were concerned about falling? Have you cut down on a favorite activity because you might fall? If so, “A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns About Falls” is a program for you!
“A Matter of Balance” is designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels among older adults. Participants learn to set realistic goals to increase activity, change their environment to reduce fall risk factors, and learn simple exercises to increase strength and balance.
The New Lenox Safe Community Coalition is offering TWO FREE “A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns About Falls” classes as follows:
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30am to 11:30am in the Community Room (lower level) at the New Lenox Village Hall, 1 Veterans Parkway, New Lenox, IL. The class includes 8 sessions as follows: September 12th, September 14th, September 19th, *September 20th, September 26th, September 28th, October 3rd and October 5th (final session & graduation). *meets on Wednesday due to scheduling conflict
Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30am to 11:30am at the New Lenox Public Library, 120 Veterans Parkway, New Lenox, IL. The class includes 8 sessions as follows: September 25th, September 27th, October 2nd, October 4th, October 9th, October 11th, October 16th and October 18th (final session & graduation).
