Blood Drive June 28
Lifesource nearly emptied its shelves of blood on June 12 when it sent donations to the Orlando area after the nightclub massacre. As a result, they are in dire need of restocking their blood supply in the Chicago area.
As you know, the need for blood never stops. Every day, someone’s life is saved by a donor whose blood was already on the shelf before it was needed. Please donate at our upcoming blood drive, and encourage others to donate to help replenish the blood supply.

There is a need for ALL blood types—especially O negative, O positive and AB plasma, the universal blood types typically used when treating trauma patients.
A single trauma patient can require as many as 100 pints of blood, and there are more than 50 people currently hospitalized with injuries as a result of Sunday’s mass shooting. LifeSource is only able to respond to urgent requests such as these when the inventory allows.
If you’re eligible, please make an effort to donate at our drive, or if you’re unable to attend that day, consider making an appointment at a LifeSource donor center this summer. While blood donations are traditionally lowest in June, July and August, the need for blood increases during these months.
Thank you for your support!
